ABSTRACT
Due to the increasing aging of the world population, solutions in the field of so-called senior housing are becoming more and more popular. They focus mainly on the needs and living environment of seniors. There is no age limit for older people, as the degree and way in which they use space and their needs change. Therefore, the space in which they spend their time cannot be defined uniformly and from above, but should respond as closely as possible to the diversified needs of users. The aim of this article is to analyse the forms of interior design applied in Poland in relation to the level of independence and support re-quired. The projects developed under the “Sample Senior Housing” initiative and the senior investments of Atlantis Senior Developer in Opole are compared. It identifies the key ele-ments of such a space and the solutions that should be taken into account when develop-ing functional and spatial assumptions for older people.
