ABSTRACT
Against the background of China’s rural revitalization and cultural heritage pro-tection, this paper explores the formation and development of Qiang traditional archi-tectural culture influenced by geographical environment and ethnic customs. It ana-lyzes its cultural commonalities with other Southwest Chinese ethnic groups—such as the "harmony between man and nature" philosophy of respecting nature and adapting to topography—and identifies its unique cultural markers. It further examines the core characteristics of Qiang traditional architecture, including stone and rammed earth materials, mountain-adapted settlement layouts, and spatial forms integrating belief and defense, revealing the embedded cultural prototypes and the Qiang people’s wisdom in adapting to nature, organizing social life and constructing worldviews. Tak-ing the Qiangfeng Village Museum in Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province, as a case study, this research explores the contemporary translation of Qiang traditional archi-tectural culture. Through comparison with surrounding ethnic architectural cultures, it argues that such translation should go beyond symbolic use and achieve three-dimensional regeneration of cultural prototypes, structural logic and construction processes.
