The article combines the issues of architectural and urban design. The research question concerns how the integration of technology and nature can occur in architecture and what are the means of achieving such integration. The research subjects are the Podlasie Opera House and the University of Bialystok Campus. Based on the analysis of the design assumptions and the existing state of both examined objects, four areas of integration of technology with nature in architecture emerged: 1 / shaping the spatial and functional structure of a building in connection with external urban and natural networks, 2 / incorporation of technical elements into – public space, 3 / shaping the semantic layer of the building, 4 / managing rainwater and biologically active surface on the building. The conditions for the unity of nature and technology in architecture have been specified. The research conclusions may contribute to outlining the principles of the integrity of the built and natural environment.
