ABSTRACT
The study attempts to analyze the post-war religious architecture in small Polish cities (up to 50 000 inhabitants) – on the example of churches built after 1945 in the archdiocese of Częstochowa. Historical determinants of investment processes as well as quantitative and qualitative effects brought by the efforts of church investors were discussed. The presented issues concerning the selected archdiocese may constitute a representative example of religious architecture in small towns in Poland.
