ABSTRACT
The article encompasses an analysis of the role of colors in architecture, focusing on the historical context of the city of Poznań and contemporary design trends. The study encompasses both the color schemes of traditional buildings and an analysis of innovative approaches to color design, particularly in the context of student works. In the first part of the article, the author concentrates on the historical color palette of Poznań, considering the distinctive features of colors used in the city's traditional architecture. An analysis of changes in the color schemes of buildings over the years is conducted, emphasizing the evolution of styles and preferences. Subsequently, the examination extends to contemporary design trends. The author analyzes architecture students' works, identifying new approaches, experiments with color palettes, and interpretations of traditional patterns. The article underscores the significance of color schemes in shaping the city's image and the influence of student projects on the development of modern color architecture, suggesting that color in architecture is a dynamic realm where tradition and modernity can mutually inspire and coexist
