ABSTRACT
Accessibility of space remains a problem, despite changes in legislation, new tools in the hands of designers or increasing public awareness. The study covers educational institutions in the Wielkopolska voivodeship. The aim of the research was to make a qualitative assessment of the accessibility of space for people with special needs. The selected buildings were verified using a variety of methods (interviews, observations, documentation analyses, study visits, etc.). As a result of the research, it was found that buildings built relatively recently are usually better adapted and have fewer architectural barriers, while the biggest problem in the surveyed buildings is the evacuation of people with disabilities.
