ABSTRACT
Public spaces, including squares, play an important role in the social life of residents, therefore they should be a response to their needs. Holy Spirit Square, despite being located in the very heart of historic Krakow, has a very turbulent history of functional changes. Each of these functions appeared there for a specific reason and served the inhabitants for a specific purpose. Thanks to the revitalization in 2019, the square gained a new look as well as new functions. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the needs of local residents and the successive evolutions of the square, including its current state.
