The aim of the research on the Lighthouse Tower in Gdańsk is, to draw attention to the forgotten monuments and their problems. The analyzes carried out on the basis of materials from the NID and the literature show that the facility, despite a number of negligence, has a high value. Additionally, the original street grid and the foreground are visible. The whole research led to considerations on introducing life to historic architecture in such a way that the function would be beneficial in the scale of the city, harmonized with the surroundings and the historical tissue of the building. Therefore, adaptation or reconstruction? In the search for a solution for the Lantern Tower, the most important thing is the context and analysis of the entire area, so that the object comes back to life.
