ABSTRACT
The classic vision of an ideal exhibition space assumes subordinating the space to art objects, but a place close to the "white cube" convention is devoid of individualization. Artists are increasingly looking for interiors that provide inspiration for their exhibition projects. Artworks become the elements shaping and individualizing space, and the genius loci initiates unconventional exhibition solutions. The reciprocal relationship of art objects and the exhibition space is worth exploring and defining; in particular, it is worth paying attention to consciously shaped relationship of contrast or subordination between the work and the spatial context. In both art and architecture, there is a significant change in the sensory and perceptual experience of the world by modern people. Visual overstimulation forces a change in the way of thinking about our surroundings.
