The need to go beyond the physical boundaries of painting which deter-mine the framework of perception in order to eliminate them is related to the concept of spatial context. Awareness of the possibility of experimenting and manipulating of boundaries to strengthen the message as well as influence the reception and impact of artworks creates a platform for discovering new meaning and interpretations in the field of art exhibition in galleries of various types as well as site-specific realizations as an example of synergy of architec-tural space and art. The need to focus the viewer's attention on an artwork has revolutionised the way it is displayed and arranged. New exhibition strategies blur the boundaries between a painting and a material object, causing the gallery to cease to be an isolated space. Nowadays, art is increasingly perceived as an event. As part of the next stage of the research project entitled Work of art in architecture, exhibitions have been carried out, which are a consequence of the process of searching for new exhibition formulas.
