ABSTRACT
In the towns and villages that began to emerge south of Warsaw at the end of the 19th century (now part of the Otwock Range), local identity was built and still is built by various elements: natural, spatial, functional and architectural.
The article aims to focus on one of the local dominants integrating the elements of technology and architecture – the historic building of the former Power Station in the Let-nisko Falenica commune from 1929, which currently does not fulfil its original technical function and is decaying when not used.
The fate of the Power Station was related to the village's history, and then the estate.
The building was and is a spatial dominant and has an interesting shape and architectural detail, and from the time of its inception to the present day, it is one of the elements that build local identity among the Falenica community.
