The aim of the article is to demonstrate the importance of the place identity which is an elementary factor influencing the individualisation of interiors of hotel facilities. The issue has been discussed basing on the examples of the ideas of the Interior Design students. The above criterion of the place identity played a significant role in the course of the project. In the didactic process the future Interior Designers were shown the importance of understanding the criterion of individual features of designed facilities. The conscious design based on the sources in tradition, culture and history having a direct impact on the interior design process was presented as well. Hotel facilites functioning outside the network of facilities with presupposed design standards served as an example. The analysis of the students projects has shown that they are in accordance with the current branch language, are clear in the context of the place identity and convey a clear message when it comes to understanding the aim of the project.
